Turtle shell!

Ok so these nails came out the way they did by accident, which I actually prefer to what I originally thought they would look like. So I happened to have put on Golden Rose no. 217 while I was on vacation and when I got home I decided to test out the new light green nail polish I bought (sexy feet divage) on top of the turquoise with the funny blocky pattern on plate no. 10.

So here's they look like, a turtle's shell is what first sprung to my mind ;P So I basically already have all the info above on which plate and nail polishes I used so... enjoy :) I'm also getting better at not managing to smudge most of my designs, yay! I also would recommend using a quick drying top coat which really helps me when I need to go somewhere quickly after I've done my nails, I use Mavala's Mavadry which dries the surface in under a minute so it's pretty useful! :D

Cherries

So here are random nails I did because I just bought a new yellow nail polisha nd I had been dying tot test out the cherry pattern on the bm plate no. 21. They didn't come out quite as good as I had expected and a few of the patterns are a bit off or smudged because the nail polish was a bit runny :P

The yellow nail polish I used was a random one I found by a brand called ruby kisses, and the colour's called yellow bikini. The red nail polish was Loreal's LaquiResist, no. 106. You can still probably notice the small chi on the fourth finger, which was because I put in the nail ring and after a few days I took it out because I have to keep my nail semi-short because of piano so I had to file my nail. Maybe I can grow them a little longer during the summer when I don't need to practice :)

Holiday

Heyyy, sorry I haven't been ale to update this blog for a while since I went to Russia with my family for the easter vacation. The good thing is that I bought many new nail polishes because they were really cheap there! Atleast compared to the prices here in Finland :D

So here are a few of the new nail polishes i bought, the lighting isn't very flattering here so the colours don't look quite the same as what they look like in real life. I also always use some kind of nail hardener or some kind of nail polish as a base coat that takes care of the nail since I use to much nail polish and nail polish remover which damage the nails. Until now I've been using Trind's Nail Repair but I bought a few new nail hardeners from Russia as you can see from the picture since my other polish is startting to run out. Personally I think the nail hardeners work well and my nails have been much stronger since I started using them :)

Arrows and stars

These are just random nails I came up with when flipping through my different bundle monster plates :)
Sorry the picture's a bit dark cause it was a bit late in the evening when I did these but I hope you can still make it out well enough :)
Ok so I finally realised why many of my patterns don't transfer very well, and it's because i've been trying too hard! :D which sounds funny but it's true, see I press down really hard on the plate and roll over the pattern many times to get the pattern completely and thoroughly on the stamp, but it actually doesn't give the best results that way, the best results come by firmly, but gently pressing down on the plate and rolling over it once and just trust it mostly to all come off on the stamp, at least it works best for me that way :) when I roll over it many times it either smudges alot of then most of the pattern doesn't stick to the stamp, I don't know why this is but that's just what happens, at least to me. I you've been experiencing the same problems I hope this helps, at least it helped me a great deal when I finally learnt how to do it properly because it's very easy to get frustrated with these things! :D
Aaaaanyways, here I used Nivea's Colour Mini, I can't make out the number because it's been smudged for some reason but it's called Blue Sparkle :) then I just used white nail polish and bm 20 for the cute starts and arrows :)
I decided to take a new picture in better lighting because I don't really like the other one and here it is ;P

Summer Nails

So the snow has finally melted here and that means... that summer is on it's way! At last... :D So I wanted to do these nails to represent the oncoming summer and the flora it brings with it :)
So here's the design

So I used a few different plates for this, one of them was Konad m 25 which I used for the green leaves, for the green flowers I used bm 12. The colour I used is by a brand called ettusais, if I remember correctly I bought this from Japan so i've never heard of it otherwise. And then for the lighter pink flowers I used another nail polish from Japan which is called Estilo, all the other text is in Japanese so I don't know any more details, and the plate was bm 14. For the darker pink flowers I used Depend's no. 5, and bm plate no. 06. Basically I first stamped the green leaves and flowers as an outline for the pink flowers and then stamped them on top, it was pretty simple, the only hard thing was to accurately get the flowers in the right places so I sometimes did them a bit off by mistake. Also remember never to apply your top coat too quickly! I managed to ruin many designs on my other hand by doing that :D

First ever

So these are the absolutely first nails I ever did with my konad set, here I used konad's plate no. 25 because I wanted to try it out straight away and I had just ordered the bundle monster plates since I thought it would take a month for them to arrive (they ended up arriving only after less than a week which was really fast since the waiting time was around 4 weeks :D)
So here they are
The white isn't really that clear in the picture but it was more visible in real life :D so I used Maybelline's water shine no. 3, Pink Explosion as the colour underneath and Rimmel's (nearly dried out) Nail tip whitener for the white flowers on top! :) Pretty simple ones but I didn't (and still don't!) have alot of experience with these so I decided to start out easy ;P

Nail Piercing!

I got tired of trying to look around for a place I could buy a nail piercing drill and rings because I couldn't really find any soooo I decided to make a hole using a pin (which apparently isn't smart but I didn't see any harm in it) and then took a piece off of one of my earrings with pliers and put it in, a fairly simple process :)

So there's the hole i made with the pin, I had to enlarge it a tiny bit after I took this pic because it was a bit small for the ring but I just took a thicker pin and stuck it through :D
So there's the (broken) earring i took the ring from.
And here's the result! It does sorta bother me a bit when I type and I'm guessing I'm gonna have a hard time playing the piano but we'll see, It's always easy to take out and put back in with a little help from pliers ;P

Fails

So here are a few examples that I found on the internet and just thought I would test them out, I tried, and miserably failed :D
So as you can see with these 'peppermint' nails the colour didn't really transfer properly, PLUS many of them went all splodgy (messy :D)

Here you can also see that the patterns also didn't transfer properly (which is the major issue in my nails not coming out as they should right now, but I'm working on fixing that problem!)

Sponging

So I found out about sponging a few days ago, I hear about it all the time but I've always though it was something very complex, turns out to be veeeery simple. Just take a sponge, paint a little nail polish on it and sponge away! Well, just dab at your nails. Simple! With a little practice and the right coloured nail polishes you can even achieve a very pretty gradient (or fading) effect :D
So here's what I tried out on my little sister, she chose the colours and I just dabbed (I used her as a guinea pig before i did mine heheh)
And here's mine which I did after I did my sisters nails, since pink is my favourite colour I of course chose pink colours :D I didn't quite get the gradient effects I was looking for but practice makes perfect!

Where to start

So I'm still trying out the bundle monster plates and am sometimes having trouble getting the images to transfer to my nails from the konad stamp since I don't have the konad special nail polishes (well, only the one I recently aquired). So preeetty often my nails have failed and come out wither messy or only half of the print has been transferred. Sorry if I blabber alot by the way, I'm a bit like that, as the people near me tend to notice! So here's one example of nails i've tried out with the bundle monter plate :)
So these are the first set of nails with the bundle monster plates that I actually didn't screw up :D Basically I used Lumene's Magic Night, no. 51 for the base and on top I tried out wet'n'wild's French White Creme on top using bm 21 (bm being short for bundle monster)

First post!

Alrightio so this is my blog, hello everyone :) I've always been into nails and I finally decided to share some of my ideas with you, I'm not an expert and I haven't been doing nails for long so my skills may not be the best but I'll try my best and I hope you enjoy my blog :)
I'll be doing my nails once or twice a week, sometimes more often sometimes not so often, just depending on how much school work or other stuff I have going on. So I'm mainly going to use the plates which are similar to konad plates, called bundle monsters i believe, since i don't have so much spare cash laying around I decided to invest in these since I ordered them for much cheaper. I've found a few of my own nail polishes that work well, many people also say that china glaze works well so i'll probably be ordering some of them too since we don't have them here in Finland (at least I haven't seen any) :D
I might also be blogging about some make up styles I might try or different kinds of nail things I find interesting (e.g. I was thinking about buying a nail drill so i can get a nail piercing ring or whatever you call it, I've been trying to look around for them but no luck so far so I may end up ordering them too)
Thank you for reading! :)
