Yeah.... I know :D

Yeeeh, very long time since I last posted! It's just that since I've had a dramatic increase in the amount of schoolwork i need to do doing my nails hasn't been a priority for me anymore :D However, I have been doing some now and then so here's all I have :)

Matte black nail polish with a silver lining :)

This I just did with a glitter nail polish, first I painted the whole nail with it, after which I went over the tip.
I also added some random design to them, just did what ever came to mind :D
Here I experimented with acrylic nail art! This was the first time I've ever done anything like this so I was happy with the result, at least it looked like a rose :)

 More acrylic nail art :)

And that's not a vodka shot or anything just in case you're wondering :D It's what you dip your brush in so that you can mold the powder into the wanted shape.

I always put tape on top of the nail I'm working on, since this way the acrylic powder won't stick to my nail, making it very difficult to remove. Instead I just apply it with a thin coat of nail polish on the bottom of the flower and it sticks well, but is also pretty easy to remove.

 Crackle nail polish :)

The silver turned out funny looking for some reason, maybe I used too much?
And finally Christmas-themed candy cane nails!

Striping tape and gold foil

So I have lots of striping tape and thought I could finally do something with it! Aaaand this is what I came up with :) It actually looked better in real life but oh well, I'm better at doing my nails than taking pictures heh :D The only annoying part in striping tape is that I just cannot get it to stick properly! They start peeling off by the end of the day and I just tear them off cause they're annoying! :D:D

Here is a design I did for when I went to my friends party, something more flashy for that occasion ;P
And what I didn't know was how slippery the gold foil was! It was really hard to print on top of it because the image kept on smudging :( But otherwise I liked these alot :)

Butterfly and Totoro nail art

So for these nails I got my inspiration from the wings of a butterfly :) And below you can see how I did them step-by-step

Not quite as I had expected, somehow I didn't get the black areas right.... but practice makes perfect!
For these nails I (obviously) got my inspiration from Totoro (who is the cutest ever! :D) and for those of you who haven't heard of Totoro, it's a cute Japanese anime film :) On the thumb I have Totoro, on the middle finger one of the smaller white animals that walk around now and then, and on the pinky the black small puff balls that are in the house :D

Matte top coat

So I have just fallen in love with matte, and I happen to have bought a matte top coat, which basically turns any nail polish under it into matte :D
Here I just used a dark blue and used the matte top coat on top :)
I then added a coat of nail polish of the same colour on the tips, giving a nice effect :) although the picture doesn't really do it justice :P
And just a pic of matte pink :) I actually used my bm plates to print little bells in white on top but they didn't really come out looking that good so I just let it be :D

A spacey design and a pastel gradient

I have no idea how I came up with these nails, just randomly made it up as i went along :D I did want to use my foils however, so here I just painted a stripe with the adhesive, although the result wasn't always very smooth so I guess maybe a thin paintbrush would have been better :D
I then used bm 14 to do the stars on one side and added one or two small silver plate things (can't remember what they're called!) too :D

Here I  thought a pastel gradient would look very pretty and it did, although I didn't get it to be as smooth as I would have wanted :/ It was fairly easy, I just started off with a layer of pink nail polish and then used a small sponge to do a stripe of yellow, on top of which I did a stripe of green and so on, trying to get a smooth gradient effect as I went along :) I just added a coat of sparkly see through nail polish and top coat and that was it :)

Flowers and cupcakes!

Sorry, my posts are getting rarer and rarer, it's just that now school has started up again I've been busier with homework and stuff, so I don't have as much time to do my nails as during the summer :/
Anyways here I TRIED to do a sort of scotch pattern, but failed miserably as you can see from the pic below where I tried it on my thumb XD so I just decided to print a few designs in white :) (the cupcakes are so cute! :)) the green stripe was made just by using sponging :)

Here I finally dared to try the flower pattern (done by hand) since they're very pretty and cute :D
Here's how I started off, I just used the nail polish brush to do random splodges on the nail
Now the flowers came out OK.... i guess :D It's just that first of all they smudged, BAD(!) when I added on the top coat :D and second of all, I just found out that I've developed an over sensitivity to caffeine! Which is not nice because I love energy drinks :( So I was drinking an energy drink before I did my nails, which resulted in me having veeeery shaky hands, which naturally isn't good for when your trying to do your nails, so please forgive me for the flowers coming out messy! Next time I'll be careful to not drink an energy drink before I do my nails, or actually at all because an over reaction to caffeine does not feel nice :D
I'm gonna be trying these flowers out again soon (when my hands aren't shaking like crazy!) so I hope they come out a bit better :)

Polka dots on yellow + bricks on white

Yeah I cracked my middle finger's nail pretty bad :/ It looked so short and wierd compare to the others that I put a fake nail on top, this was the closest one to see through I had :P It looks much bigger than the rest of my nails but it's better than having one reeeally short nail!
The first part is easy, just paint on the diagonal stripe across your nail.
I then used bm 19 to do the polka dots, I covered the part of the nail that i didn't paint because I didn't want the polka dot pattern on that part of the nail.
I then just added these flakes one by one, just using my fingertip and putting a small drop of see through anil polish on the bottom of the flake before pressing it onto the nail.
I think these came out really nice, although they did look nicer in real life :/ I got loads of compliments from everyone which was nice :)
Here I basically used the same diagonal stripe idea as in the last nails.
I just put tape over half the nail and used bm 10 to do the block shapes.
Then I just painted a diagonal line across where the black ends with glittery gold nail polish. I managed to smudge the design once again, although I was really careful! It seems I never succeed :D
